You are still able to submit stories and/or make purchases from the Story Store during this time. Workshops are paused.
About
So, I had an abortion… is a donation-based initiative, as of November 2022. Previously, workshops were funded by grants provided by the Abortion Conversations Project, and the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada. Please consider donating what you can to sustain the workshop series.
Approach:
So, I had an abortion… offers FREE, monthly, online storytelling workshops to people who have experienced abortion/s.
Each workshop is designed and facilitated by collaborators around the world who are knowledgeable about abortion experiences, healing modalities, and creative practices.
Every workshop employs cretaive mediums to facilitate access to play, joy, and self-compassion.
Mission:
To shift attitudes about abortion from the inside out.
To bust stigma, from internalized beliefs to the systems that formed them (e.g. media, policies, etc.).
To increase awareness of the diversity of abortion experiences through storytelling.
Vision:
To activate healing the collective trauma/s of abortion stigma through empowerment-focused storytelling.
To transform how we are viewed (by society and ourselves) for our choices.
Workshops
FREE to any body and every body who will seek, is seeking, or has sought community care before/during/after abortions.
Story Store
Available to all, the Story Store sells merchandise created from stories contributed to the site. All merchandise creators sign a media waiver to consent to the use of their story/ies.
